Ben and Katie Update 48--Tons of Toys
Benjamin and Kaitlyn have been building castles. Not with blocks or Lego or play dough, but with a strange assortment of household items--stools and blankets, pillows and bric-a-brac. Their bed often plays a prominent role in the architecture. They get quite creative.
It’s hard to say whether they’re making off with the lighter furniture and raiding the cupboards because of the natural attractions of the items they’re using or because the toy boxes are locked. See, we instituted a rule that old toys had to be picked up before new ones could be gotten out, and the toy-box thing was meant to help enforce that. It seems, however, to have been far less successful in teaching our kids to clean up than in changing the nature of their toys.
